The Connecticut Insurance Department has identified six categories about which consumers most often have questions and the frequently asked questions for each topic. Categories are Regarding Repairs to Your Vehicle, Mental Health Benefits in Connecticut, Healthcare Reform, Homeowner's Insurance, COBRA and Long-term Care Insurance.

Many of the programs are administered under a Medicaid ‘waiver,’ meaning that Connecticut has received federal approval to waive certain Medicaid requirements to meet the service needs of older adults and adults with disabilities in the community.

The portal includes a website and call center, as well as career opportunities for caregivers. It asks consumers about their needs and shows how they can pay for care and also lists housing, long-term care insurance and transportation options.
