Secondary Transition Training for Paraeducators

The Secondary Transition Training for Paraeducators was developed by the CSDE in partnership with the RESC Alliance to meet the requirements of Pursuant to Public Act 23-137 Sec. 31. In accordance with the Public Act, each paraeducator who provides special education services to students 14 years of age or older, must complete this training. Each paraeducator hired prior to May 1, 2026, must complete the training program within five years. If a paraeducator was hired after May 1, 2026, they must complete the training not later than one year from the date of hire.

The approximate total time to complete this training is one hour. Please note that the time to complete the training will be monitored by the CSDE. The training must be completed in full in order to meet the requirement. Please carefully read the directions as you proceed through the training.

Note: At the end of the training, you will be required to certify that you completed the training in full. When the training is completed, a certificate will be sent to your email.
