School Nutrition Programs | Program Guidance | Forms | Resources | Nutrition Education
Thousands of children across Connecticut participate in the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Child Nutrition Programs each day, receiving meal benefits that make an important contribution to their overall nutrition and academic success. The guidance, resources, and forms on this webpage assist local educational agencies (LEAs) and other sponsors of the school nutrition programs with determining children's eligibility for free and reduced-price meals and free milk in the school nutrition programs. The USDA's eligibility requirements are defined in section 7 CFR 245: Determining Eligibility for Free and Reduced Price Meals and Free Milk in Schools.
