Overview
Connecticut General Statues (C.G.S) 10-151b, as amended by Public Act 23-159, §23, includes updated requirements for leader and educator evaluation and support that are effective as of July 1, 2024. The CT Guidelines 2023 reflect these new requirements. The CT State Model Plans, Connecticut Leader and Educator Evaluation and Support Models 2024, are aligned with the non-negotiables described in the CT Guidelines 2023. District Professional Development and Evaluation Committees (PDECs) are encouraged to consider the best practices described in the CT Guidelines 2023, which encompass transformational changes in current practices and systems that will lead to innovation and leader, educator, and student growth.
Districts are required, with mutual agreement between the PDEC and local Board of Education (BOE), to submit their proposed Leader and Educator Evaluation and Support Plan that is aligned with the CT Guidelines 2023 to the Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE) for review and approval by August 1, 2024, for implementation beginning with the 2024-25 school year.
