Teacher of the Year Ceremony
Due to inclement weather, the Teacher of the Year Ceremony has been postponed to December 16, 2025 from 5-7pm. Doors will open at 4pm. The Ceremony will take place at the Bushnell Theater in Hartford, and the order of events will remain the same.

Calling all learners and families! Get ready to choose your own adventure with Connecticut Reads this summer. There are many choices—from visiting local public libraries to enjoying Storywalk® installations in state parks. StoryWalks® are located in Connecticut state parks and are part of the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection’s 2025 No Child Left Inside® Families in the Parks Program. The Storywalk® installations offer a fun way to combine reading with outdoor fun, giving families a unique way to read and walk together. Additionally, to support summer reading, the Connecticut State Library’s statewide eGo eBook platform is now available through many local public libraries, and provides access to digital books and audiobooks through The Palace Project App. For a list of local public libraries currently offering eGo visit the website Let's make this summer full of stories and adventures!

 

The Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy launched the Literacy Everywhere Contest to celebrate family literacy across America. The contest encourages families to share unique, inspiring images or videos that show what family literacy looks like for them.

Storyline Online®  
This award-winning children’s literacy program streams video featuring children’s books read by celebrated actors. Storyline Online is a nonprofit organization that promotes lifelong literacy.  

No Child Left Inside® (NCLI) Families in the Parks Program

The 2025 Nutmeg Book Award Winners 
The Nutmeg Book Award is a great way to get kids excited about reading! It invites them to explore a selection of fantastic books and choose their favorite from ten nominated titles.
