Advancing Equity in Secondary Mathematics

Educators, leaders, and advocates gathered for a powerful day of learning, reflection, and collaboration at the Advancing Equity in Secondary Mathematics Alliance District Symposium. The event brought together passionate professionals to explore ways to create meaningful, inclusive math experiences for every student.

Highlights included a keynote by Ted Coe focused on student-centered mathematics, a panel on the impact of math teacher leadership, interactive poster sessions from CT Noyce Teacher Leaders, and dynamic breakout discussions on grading practices, retention strategies, acceleration, and student agency. The day concluded with a collaborative session examining mathematical pathways and programming.

Together, participants took action to advance equity and reimagine what’s possible in secondary mathematics.
