Administration of a polygraph examination as an entry-level requirement is specified in the Regulations of the Police Officer Standards and Training Council, Section 7-294e-16(i)(3), in General Notice 94-04 and in General Notice 96-05 which requires that a polygraph examination must have been administered within 182 days of appointment to a police position.
