Strategy: Drive Growth, Build Skills, Expand Access

Building a Demand-Driven System

We are building a demand-driven system where business skill needs drive workforce development efforts throughout the state. We are working in lockstep with industry to understand and respond to their current and long-term talent requirements.

As we do so, we are committed to providing all Connecticut residents, regardless of background, with the training, education and supports they need to attain quality jobs and maximize workforce participation.

Our Values: Collaboration, Impact and Opportunity

Collaboration

Building a strong workforce requires partnership between government, industry, K-12, higher education, adult education, and community-based organizations. By aligning our efforts, we can build a sustainable and effective workforce development system that prepares our state for the future. When we work together, we create a system that works for all.

Impact

We are committed to creating measurable change for individuals, employers, communities, and our state’s economy. To ensure each initiative we support has the potential to make a meaningful difference, we focus on data-driven decision making and accountability. This approach allows us to continuously evaluate, adapt, and improve our strategies to maximize positive impact.

Opportunity

Our workforce is strongest when we learn from and leverage a wide range of voices, experiences, and perspectives from people of all backgrounds, skill levels, and identities. By embracing our differences, we create a stronger workforce and a more vibrant Connecticut—where we are individually and collectively afforded the opportunity to explore and expand on the full range of our human potential.
