Attorney Hakima Bey-Coon joined the Office of the Victim Advocate in March, 2006.
She earned a B.A. in Political Science from Rutgers University and Juris Doctor from Seton Hall Law School.
After law school, Hakima served a clerkship under the Hon. Kevin G. Callahan, J.S.C., in the NJ Superior Court, Criminal Division.
She then worked as a staff attorney at Hudson County Legal Services in Jersey City, NJ, representing low-income clients in housing matters. She later served as a Deputy Attorney General in the NJ Attorney General’s Office where she focused on prosecuting professional licensing cases.
After her work in the Attorney General’s Office, Hakima practiced law at Maya & Associates, P.C. in Westport, CT. Hakima is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., an international service organization.
