The Office of the Victim Advocate (OVA) supports professionals who work with crime victims. We also offer valuable resources for families, caregivers, and the general public. Resources include:

The Office of Victim Services (OVS) offers advocacy, programs, and services to help victims and survivors. They can help crime victims get compensation and court-based advocates. OVS also helps notify crime victims of important court proceedings.

The Office of the Victim Advocate (OVA), on the other hand, focuses on enforcement of crime victims’ rights. We also provide legislative and policy advocacy, as well as public outreach. Review this chart for a breakdown of the difference between OVS and OVA.
