About the Safe Harbor Fund
The Connecticut Safe Harbor Fund was created to support individuals and families who need to travel to access reproductive or gender affirming health care because it is unavailable in the state where they are located. The Fund provides financial assistance to help cover related costs — such as travel, lodging, and other practical needs — so that people can obtain medically necessary care without undue hardship.
By supporting nonprofits and community partners who assist patients seeking care in Connecticut, the Safe Harbor Fund helps translate the state’s commitment to dignity, safety, and health equity into action. The program prioritizes access for those most affected by restrictions in other states and works to ensure that every person can receive the care they need with compassion and respect.
The application period for eligible organizations opens July 1, 2026. Additional information, including program guidelines and eligibility requirements, is available here.
