Far below normal precipitation has caused a drought and increased fire danger levels. All of Connecticut is currently in a Stage 2 Drought Advisory. Residents are encouraged to be mindful of water consumption and use extra caution to prevent fires. An emergency burn ban remains in effect at all state parks, forests, and wildlife management areas, prohibiting the use of all outdoor grills, firepits, campfires, etc.

Remittance Instructions

Each municipality in the state is required under Connecticut law to contribute ten dollars ($10.00) every year per firefighter (both career and volunteer firefighters meeting certain criteria that are outlined in the attached remittance form) within each such municipality’s district. This requirement became effective as of January 1, 2024, and the contributions must be made not later than December 15, 2024. (C.G.S. Section 7-313n)
