STOP funds are currently being awarded to The Connecticut Alliance to End Sexual Violence.

The Alliance is a statewide coalition of nine individual community based sexual assault crisis service (SACS) programs that have been working to end sexual violence through victim assistance, community education, and public policy advocacy for over three decades. These programs provide comprehensive victim services that include, but are not limited to, 24-hour hotlines (English and Spanish), crisis intervention, short-term counseling, and support groups. In addition, center staff provide advocacy and accompaniment through police, hospital, and court systems.

During the 2017-2018 fiscal year, The Alliance's nine member programs served over 8,100 adult, adolescent and child victim/survivors and family and friends of survivors. Sexual assault victim advocates continue to serve survivors from the state’s diverse populations including a high rate (over 20%) of residents that identify as Latina/os.

Through this project, The Alliance will continue to support the success of statewide efforts through its sexual assault response activities. The Alliance works to develop projects and collaborations that promote coordinated, comprehensive services to victims of sexual assault, outreach to underserved populations, and training for community partners to improve the response to survivors, and their supporters.
