The Office of Policy and Management serves as the State Administering Agency (SAA) for the distribution of SASP grant funds in Connecticut.

The Sexual Assault Services Program was initiated in Connecticut in 2009 and awards are made annually to each applicant state and eligible territory by the Department of Justice Office on Violence Against Women (OVW). Funds are awarded by DOJ based on a formula.

As the State Administering Agency, OPM receives funding and is responsible for appropriately distributing the funds throughout the state. In accordance with the solicitation and special conditions, funds must go towards supporting sexual assault services. OPM is currently administering funding from FFY 2022, 2023, and 2024 SASP awards.

In order to apply, potential sub recipients must submit a coversheet, narrative, and budget to OPM. Additionally, in order to be eligible for grant funds, applicants must have an UEI number, a FEIN number, written accounting policies and procedures, a financial management system that is able to track actual expenditures and outlays, in addition to other requirements. If you believe you are an eligible applicant and would like to inquire further, please contact Emily Burnett at Emily.Burnett@ct.gov.

OPM CJPPD is currently seeking applications for a Notice of Funding Opportunity for culturally specific services. Organizations applying for these funds must provide culturally specific programming, crisis intervention, and healing for survivors of sexual assault to ensure that all victims have access to services.

Applications are due no later than January 5, 2025 at 12 pm (noon) EST

They must be submitted via email to VAWAReports@ct.gov.
