Governor Ned Lamont is applauding both chambers of the Connecticut General Assembly for voting today in favor of approving an agreement his administration reached with the State Employees Bargaining Agent Coalition (SEBAC) on new contracts with several unions representing state employees who serve in a variety of agencies throughout state government.

Governor Ned Lamont today announced that the Connecticut Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA) has approved an interim decision that will lower residential electricity rates throughout Connecticut starting May 1, 2026, including by 4.3 cents per kilowatt-hour or about $30 per month for an average Eversource residential customer and 4.9 cents per kilowatt-hour or about $34 per month for an average United Illuminating residential customer.

Governor Ned Lamont today announced that he has signed an executive order (Executive Order No. 26-3) calling for the development of a strategic plan to reform the funding streams used to support the operations of Connecticut's K-12 public schools, saying that the existing methodologies - including the state's main funding formula, known as the Education Cost Sharing (ECS) grant - were developed several generations ago, are outdated, and need updating to reflect school districts' current-day needs.
