Members of the public have reported receiving calls, reportedly from the Judicial Branch of the Public Defender’s office, indicating that their loved one is in jail and they need to immediately send cash or provide a credit card number for bail. These calls are scams, so please do not send cash or provide your credit card number or any other personal information. A public defender would never call and ask for money or credit card information. If you receive such a call, contact the State Police in your state.

Directions from Wilbur Cross, Rt. 15 North-South Bound:

Get off at exit 59, before or after tunnel, follow signs for New Haven.
Proceed straight ahead on Whalley Ave., about 3-4 miles. We are opposite the second MacDonald’s at 239 Whalley Ave.
(Directly in front of current and on the original site of the New Haven Correctional Center (adult).

From I-91:

Get off at Exit 1, marked "Downtown New Haven – Frontage Rd.", proceed as below:

From I–95 – North or South Bound:

Get off at Exit 1, marked "Downtown New Haven" – Frontage Rd."

Proceed as below:

Proceed ahead to Exit 3 where expressway ends.
Continue straight ahead through traffic lights at York Street, Park Street, Howe Street and Dwight Street
Turn right at the 5th light onto Orchard Street. Turn also marked with "Hospital" sign.
Proceed ahead on Orchard Street through lights at George, Chapel, Edgewood, Elm and turn left at the 5th light, onto Whalley Ave.
We are located at the next intersection between County St. and Hudson St.

A parking garage is located on County St. immediately behind Juvenile Matters.
