Gov. Malloy Statement Regarding Recommendations of the Commission on Fiscal Stability and Economic Growth
(HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Dannel P. Malloy released the following statement regarding the package of recommendations that were made today by the Commission on Fiscal Stability and Economic Growth:
“The Commission on Fiscal Stability and Economic Growth undertook an enormous task to conduct an exhaustive analysis of the state’s fiscal situation and to propose a comprehensive package of recommendations to be deliberated and voted upon by the General Assembly this session. It is clear that members of the commission took their charge seriously and put a great deal of thought and effort into the development of this proposal. The fact is, this commission’s report presents Connecticut with an opportune moment to engage in a meaningful conversation about bold ideas for growing our economy and building stronger communities where people want to live and work – now and into the future.
“We look forward to reviewing this report and to giving their proposals the careful consideration that they are due. We applaud the members and especially the co-chairs, Mr. Patricelli and Mr. Smith, for their professionalism and dedication to this endeavor. We thank all the commissioners for their service and for lending their expertise to help keep Connecticut focused on a path forward to a brighter future for all.”
