Gov. Malloy and Lt. Gov. Wyman Congratulate Jack Betkoski on Being Named President of National Group Representing Utility Commissions
(HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman are congratulating Connecticut Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA) Vice Chairman John W. “Jack” Betkoski III on being named President of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC). In this position, Commissioner Betkoski will oversee the national organization that represents utility commissions responsible for regulating utilities that provide essential services such as energy, telecommunications, power, water, and transportation.
Governor Malloy said, “Jack brings a wealth of knowledge on energy and utility issues to this national organization, along with a New England perspective on the energy challenges northeastern states face. He is an accomplished public servant and leader, and I congratulate him on this new role.”
Lt. Governor Wyman said, “I commend Jack on his new appointment. The association is getting a true leader who has shown the strongest commitment to furthering regional energy goals. He has been a great asset to Connecticut and I thank him for his continued service.”
Commissioner Betkoski will continue to serve as Vice Chairman of PURA in addition to his position at NARUC.
