TUESDAY: GOV. MALLOY ATTENDS ANNOUNCEMENT OF CHILDREN'S BEHAVIORAL HEALTH PLAN; ANNOUNCES LEGISLATIVE PROPOSAL ENCOURAGING BUSINESS GROWTH

(HARTFORD, CT) - On Tuesday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will join Department of Children and Families Commissioner Joette Katz and legislators to announce the development of a plan for the children's behavioral health system in response to one piece of legislation flowing from the Newtown tragedy. Under Public Act 13-178, the agency is required to develop a comprehensive plan that meets the behavioral health needs of all children in the state with a focus on preventing and reducing the long-term negative impact of mental, emotional and behavioral health issues on children.

In the afternoon, Governor Malloy will hold a news conference in Hartford to announce the introduction of legislation that he is proposing for the upcoming regular session of the General Assembly that encourages the growth of certain types of businesses in Connecticut.
