THURSDAY: GOV. MALLOY MAKES SCHOOL SECURITY ANNOUNCEMENT IN NEW HAVEN; ATTENDS EVENTS IN BRIDGEPORT AND BRISTOL

(HARTFORD, CT) - On Thursday afternoon, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will hold a news conference in New Haven to announce a legislative proposal to improve school security. He will be joined by Department of Education Commissioner Stefan Pryor, Department of Administrative Services Commissioner Donald DeFronzo, Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection Deputy Commissioner William P. Shea, New Haven Mayor Toni Harp and others.

In the evening, Governor Malloy will attend the Latinos United for Professional Advancement (LUPA) "Here's to You" recognition event, where he will present the "LUPIAN of the Year Award" to Supreme Court Justice Carmen Espinosa. LUPA is an organization that promotes the advancement of the Latino professional community in Connecticut.

Later, Governor Malloy will make brief remarks at an event honoring former Bristol Mayor Art Ward.
