THURSDAY: GOV. MALLOY KEYNOTES STATE POLICE GRADUATION IN STORRS; ATTENDS EVENTS IN STAMFORD AND HARTFORD
(HARTFORD, CT) - On Thursday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will participate in an event to announce the recipient of the 69th annual Stamford Citizen of the Year award.
Following that, Governor Malloy will speak at a ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of the AmeriCares Free Clinic of Stamford. The mobile clinic program will be the fourth AmeriCares Free Clinic in Connecticut.
Later, Governor Malloy will give the keynote address at the Connecticut State Police graduation ceremony in Storrs, honoring a class of 83 new state troopers of the 123rd Training Troop. Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection Commissioner Reuben F. Bradford and Colonel Danny R. Stebbins will preside over the graduation exercises, and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman will also make remarks. This graduating class has been training since June 14, 2013. They will report to their State Police Troop assignments, where they will complete their training with field training troopers.
In the afternoon, Governor Malloy will chair a meeting of the State Bond Commission, which will be followed by a media availability.
