GOV. MALLOY RELEASES COMMENTS RECEIVED FROM PUBLIC DURING STATE REGULATIONS REVIEW PERIOD
Intends on Submitting Legislation Eliminating Obsolete, Duplicative and Burdensome Regulations
(HARTFORD, CT) - Governor Dannel P. Malloy today released onto his official state website
hundreds of comments
he received from members of the public during
a recent two-month review period of state regulations
that he initiated in an attempt to identify those that are obsolete, duplicative, excessively burdensome, or otherwise ineffective or unnecessary.
The Governor intends on utilizing the comments as a guide as he seeks to streamline state regulations across the board during the upcoming legislative session. State departments and agencies have also been conducting an ongoing internal review of regulations.
"Engaging the public in a conversation about state regulations is an important component in our efforts to make state government more efficient, more transparent and more responsive to Connecticut citizens and businesses," Governor Malloy said.
Legislation on this effort will be filed following the start of the upcoming regular session of the General Assembly, which begins February 5.
