FRIDAY: GOV. MALLOY PROMOTES NEW OPTION FOR VETERANS TO HAVE MILITARY SERVICE INDICATED ON DRIVER'S LICENSES AND ID CARDS
(HARTFORD, CT) - On Friday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will hold a news conference in Wethersfield to promote the new option for veterans of the U.S. military to have their service marked on their
driver's licenses and state-issued ID cards
. Recognizing that a growing number of businesses are generously offering special services, discounts and programs to the men and women who have served our nation, this option is designed to make it more convenient for veterans to indicate their service. The indication will also make it easier for first responders, emergency rooms and healthcare providers to identify veterans that are eligible for programs and services from both the Department of Veterans' Affairs and the VA.
