TUESDAY: GOV. MALLOY MAKES ANNOUNCEMENT; ATTENDS EVENTS IN HARTFORD

affiliate's winning of the national AFT's Prize for Solution-Driven Unionism in recognition of its role in implementing a new health plan for state workers, ultimately saving the state $1.6 billion.

Following that, Governor Malloy will make brief remarks at the 2013 Education Policy Symposium in Hartford, which is hosted by the Connecticut Association of Public School Superintendents, the Connecticut Association of Boards of Education, UConn, and the Connecticut Department of Education.

Later, Governor Malloy will hold a news conference at a small business in Bloomfield, where he will announce an effort to increase the transparency of economic development initiatives. He will be joined by State Comptroller Kevin Lembo and Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Catherine Smith.
