THURSDAY: GOV. MALLOY VISITS EAST HARTFORD FARM TO VIEW REPAIRS FROM DAMAGES CAUSED BY LAST WINTER'S BLIZZARD

(HARTFORD, CT) - On Thursday at noon, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will visit the Connecticut Hydroponic Farm in East Hartford for an opportunity to meet with its owner and view repairs that have been made since it sustained severe damages from February's blizzard, which brought over three feet of snow to parts of the state and damaged the farm's greenhouses. In the fall, the farm was one of 239 in the state that received a Production Loss Assistance Needed Today (PLANT) grant , which Governor Malloy created this year and was administered by the Connecticut Department of Agriculture to help provide assistance to farms that suffered damage from this year's severe weather.
