THURSDAY: GOV. MALLOY, STATE OFFICIALS LAUNCH DISTRACTED DRIVING CAMPAIGN
(HARTFORD, CT) - On Thursday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will join a group of state officials at a news conference in Hartford to launch a campaign raising awareness about the dangers of distracted driving. The Governor has proclaimed September 19 "Don't Text and Drive Day" in the State of Connecticut. Also participating will be Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman, Attorney General George Jepsen, Department of Transportation Commissioner James P. Redeker, Department of Motor Vehicles Commissioner Melody Currey, Travelers Chief Customer Officer Henry Edinger, and AT&T Connecticut President John Emra.
