GOV. MALLOY'S SANDY HOOK ADVISORY COMMISSION RECEIVES PRESENTATIONS FRIDAY ON SCHOOL SECURITY ISSUES
(HARTFORD, CT) - Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the Sandy Hook Advisory Commission is next scheduled
to meet on Friday, August 16
, at the Legislative Office Building in Hartford, where they will receive presentations on school security issues.
Among the panelists will be an Israeli homeland security official, who will discuss methods used in Israel to safeguard schools. Department of Administrative Services Commissioner Donald DeFronzo will also give a presentation on the status of the state's School Security Infrastructure Council.
The meeting begins at 9:30 a.m. in hearing room 1A.
The Sandy Hook Advisory Commission is a 16-member panel of experts created in January by Governor Malloy to review current policy and make specific recommendations in the areas of public safety, with particular attention paid to school safety, mental health, and gun violence prevention.
