GOV. MALLOY'S SANDY HOOK ADVISORY COMMISSION CONTINUES DISCUSSIONS FRIDAY ON PUBLIC SAFETY AND SCHOOL SECURITY
(HARTFORD, CT) - Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the Sandy Hook Advisory Commission is next scheduled to meet on Friday, July 12 , at the Legislative Office Building in Hartford, where they will review new state laws that were approved from the recently adjourned legislative session, followed by a presentation on school security from the president of the National School Safety and Security Services.
The meeting begins at 10:00 a.m. in hearing room 1A.
The Sandy Hook Advisory Commission is a 16-member panel of experts created by Governor Malloy to review current policy and make specific recommendations in the areas of public safety, with particular attention paid to school safety, mental health, and gun violence prevention. Friday's meeting will be the thirteenth time the group has met since the Governor created the commission in January.
