TODAY: GOV. MALLOY HOLDS MEDIA AVAILABILITY; CALLS FOR CONTINUATION OF ENROLLMENT INTO STATE'S JOBS CORPS CENTERS
(HARTFORD, CT) - Today at noon, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will hold a media availability at the State Capitol.
At 3:30 p.m., Governor Malloy will join U.S. Senators Richard Blumenthal and Chris Murphy, Connecticut Department of Labor Commissioner Sharon Palmer, and other advocates at a news conference in Hartford to urge the U.S. Department of Labor to lift the nationwide freeze on enrollment into the Jobs Corps program. The program provides a variety of job training services to young, low-income adults so they can gain the skills needed to fully integrate into the workforce. In Connecticut, the program has centers in Hartford and New Haven and impacts the lives of over 600 young adults annually.
