MONDAY: GOV. MALLOY HIGHLIGHTS SMALL BUSINESS GROWTH IN MANCHESTER, MERIDEN, NEW HAVEN & STAMFORD; DISCUSSES BENEFITS OF 'NEXT GENERATION CONNECTICUT' PROPOSAL; KEYNOTES HONG KONG ASSOCIATION DINNER
(HARTFORD, CT) - Throughout the day on Monday, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will visit small businesses in Manchester, Meriden, New Haven and Stamford to highlight job growth at the companies. Governor Malloy introduced legislation this session to extend the popular Small Business Express Program, which he signed into law in 2011 and provides loans and grants to help small businesses spur job creation and growth.
At 12:30 p.m., Governor Malloy will join state lawmakers, and UConn administrators and students at a news conference in support of the Governor's proposed
Next Generation Connecticut
initiative, which will be the subject of a public hearing that day in the General Assembly's Finance, Revenue and Bonding Committee.
At 7:00 p.m., Governor Malloy will give the keynote speech at the Hong Kong Association of New York's Inaugural Trans-Pacific Gala. The organization is a non-profit business association designed to facilitate exchanges between members, business people, senior government officials, and opinion leaders from both Hong Kong and the United States.
