THURSDAY: GOV. MALLOY SPEAKS AT GOVERNOR'S PREVENTION PARTNERSHIP LUNCHEON; MAKES MAJOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ANNOUNCEMENT

(HARTFORD, CT) - On Thursday at noon, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will give remarks at the 22nd annual Governor's Prevention Partnership Luncheon in New Haven, where he will speak about strengthening the ability of parents, communities and schools to address issues that threaten youth, so that young people thrive and succeed in life and in our workforce. The organization is a not-for-profit partnership between state government and business leaders with a mission to keep Connecticut's youth safe, successful and drug-free.

Later, Governor Malloy will hold a news conference in New Haven, where he will unveil the third component of his economic development strategy. Last year, the Governor launched the First Five and Small Business Express Programs, which have since created thousands of jobs in the state through incentives that encourage existing companies to expand and out-of-state companies to relocate to Connecticut.
