SATURDAY: GOV. MALLOY WELCOMES CONNECTICUT TROOPS HOME; SPEAKS AT EARLY CHILDHOOD CONFERENCE; PARTICIPATES IN WELCOME HOME VIETNAM VETERANS EVENT

(HARTFORD, CT) - On Saturday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman will participate in a formal welcome home ceremony in East Granby hosted by the Connecticut National Guard to thank over 200 Connecticut troops for their recent deployment overseas. The 103rd Security Forces Squadron (SFS), the 103rd Civil Engineer Squadron (CES), the 192nd Engineer Battalion, the 1109th Theater Aviation Sustainment Maintenance Group (TASMG), the Aviation Depot Maintenance Roundout Unit (ADMRU) from the Connecticut National Guard as well as individual deployers who mobilized, deployed and recently returned will be recognized for answering the call to duty in support of the Global War on Terror.

Later Governor Malloy will speak at the sixth annual Childhood Conversation Conference in Windsor, where he will discuss his proposals to improve access to early childhood education in the state.

In the evening, Governor Malloy and Lt. Governor Wyman will participate in the State of Connecticut's official Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans ceremony in Hartford, where over 750 Vietnam-era veterans, joined by their family and friends, will be honored for their service to the nation.
