TUESDAY: GOV. MALLOY NEWS CONFERENCE ON NEXT COMPONENT OF EDUCATION REFORM PACKAGE
(HARTFORD, CT) - On Tuesday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will host a news conference at Central Connecticut State University to discuss the next component in his package of legislative proposals to reform the state's education system.
During the run-up to the opening day of this year's legislative session, Governor Malloy has been rolling out pieces of his comprehensive proposal on education reform, designed to restore Connecticut as a model for creating academic excellence. To date, he has made announcements on proposals regarding topics that include: removing red tape to empower local school districts; improving quality of and access to early childhood education; modifying technical high schools to ensure students are better prepared for real-world employment; expanding access to public schools of choice and increasing their competitiveness; and reforms that will improve low-achieving schools.
