WEDNESDAY: GOV. MALLOY HOLDS NEWS CONFERENCE TO ANNOUNCE STORM PROPOSALS; ATTENDS GROUNDBREAKING FOR CT RIVER ACADEMY AT GOODWIN COLLEGE
(HARTFORD, CT) - On Wednesday afternoon, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will hold a news conference in Simsbury to outline his proposals to enhance preparedness, response and recovery efforts from future storms and natural disasters. The Governor will be joined by Simsbury First Selectman Mary Glassman, state agency commissioners and legislators.
Later, Governor Malloy will attend the groundbreaking ceremony for the Connecticut River Academy high school at Goodwin College. The facility will include nine college-level science labs, a green roof with garden space, a habitat center, collaborative spaces for students and staff, Connecticut River ecology and history displays in the main entrance, music and art rooms, a university-style lecture hall, a full-size gymnasium and a fitness center.
