GOV. MALLOY: CONNECTICUT HAS TAKEN A MAJOR STEP TOWARD MEANINGFUL TEACHER EVALUATIONS

(HARTFORD, CT) - Governor Dannel P. Malloy released the following statement:

"I extend my congratulations and my thanks to the PEAC Committee and the State Department of Education on their progress today. Connecticut has taken a major step toward a meaningful teacher evaluation system," Governor Malloy said. "Today's consensus proposal has real potential to increase teacher effectiveness - and as a result, to elevate student achievement. This is a milestone in what I expect will continue to be a momentous year for education reform in Connecticut."
