GOV. MALLOY'S TWO STORM PANEL TO MEET FRIDAY
(HARTFORD, CT) - The working group Governor Dannel P. Malloy created to review the preparedness, response and recovery efforts of Tropical Storm Irene and the October Nor'easter will next meet on Friday, November 18, during which they will discuss a range of topics, including urban forestry issues, shelter for those with special needs, public health concerns, and the efforts of first responders. In addition, several labor leaders representing utility workers will also address the panel.
Friday's meeting begins at 9:30 a.m. in Room 1D of the Legislative Office Building in Hartford. Information on the meeting, including a list of presenters, can be found in

. It will be the fifth time the group has met since it was initially created by Governor Malloy in the aftermath of Tropical Storm Irene.
The eight-member group is charged with reviewing the preparedness, response and recovery efforts of the state and its partners - including the utilities and municipalities - related to Tropical Storm Irene and the October Nor'easter, and then presenting to Governor Malloy a set of recommendations on how those efforts can be improved.
