WEDNESDAY: GOV. MALLOY TOURS ADVANCED FUSION SYSTEMS IN NEWTOWN; MEETS WITH FAIRFIELD COUNTY SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS

(HARTFORD, CT) - On Wednesday afternoon, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will visit Advanced Fusion Systems, LLC in Newtown for an opportunity to meet with the company's management team and to tour the facility. The company is an advanced manufacturing startup, focused on research and development of technologies in the power electronics market. Formed in 2009, AFS has the potential to bring up to 200 jobs to Newtown by the end of 2014 and over 500 jobs by 2016. Presently, the company employs over 20 subcontractors and 60 workers of the various trades.

Also on Wednesday afternoon, Governor Malloy will meet with a group of approximately 30 small business owners in Fairfield County who are members of the CEO Roundtable, an organization formed in 2001 to give top-level executives from the area an opportunity to network with their peers and discuss their business challenges, successes and opportunities.

During both of Wednesday's meetings, Governor Malloy will discuss what he is hoping to accomplish in a bipartisan manner during the upcoming Jobs Special Session at the end of this month.
