MONDAY: GOV. MALLOY MEETS WITH GROUP OF BUSINESS EXECUTIVES TO DISCUSS WEDNESDAY'S JOB GROWTH LEGISLATION

(HARTFORD, CT) - On Monday afternoon, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will meet in Westport with a group of business executives of large and medium sized firms to discuss what the Governor is hoping to accomplish in a bipartisan manner during Wednesday's special legislative session on job growth. The Business Council of Fairfield County will be inviting CEOs, Chief Marketing Officers and other business leaders from the area representing financial services, consumer products, real estate and business/professional services to attend the meeting.

Governor Malloy has been working with legislative leaders to develop a bipartisan package on job growth that spurs innovation and entrepreneurial drive, increases support for small businesses, cultivates a 21st century workforce, includes efforts to make it easier to do business with the state, and strengthens existing economic development tools.

Earlier this summer, Governor Malloy joined Department of Economic & Community Development Commissioner Catherine Smith at the Business Council of Fairfield County's Annual Meeting in June to kick off the start of their Jobs Tour, during which they traveled the state and met with representatives of over 350 companies across Connecticut for the purpose of cultivating ideas that will ultimately be debated during Wednesday's legislative session.
