WEDNESDAY: GOV. MALLOY VISITS JOBS FUNNEL PROGRAM; ATTENDS NATIONAL GUARD SEND OFF CEREMONY
(HARTFORD, CT) - On Wednesday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will continue his Jobs Tour with a stop at the construction site of the new police headquarters in New Britain. The project is part of the Jobs Funnel Program, which prepares qualified unemployed/under-employed adult residents in selected communities for good paying construction jobs and career pathways in the building trades industry. Approximately 1,500 Connecticut residents have been placed into construction work through Jobs Funnel efforts in recent years.
On Wednesday afternoon, Governor Malloy will attend the send off ceremony at the Connecticut Air National Guard Base in East Granby for 80 members of the 103rd Civil Engineer Squadron and the 103rd Security Forces Squadron, both of which will be deployed to Afghanistan next week.
