TUESDAY: GOVERNOR MALLOY AT KIDS' SPEAK FORUM; MONTHLY ALL-COMMISSIONERS MEETING; EARTH DAY TEACH-OUT IN HARTFORD; MASS TRANSIT SECURITY EVENT IN NEW HAVEN
(HARTFORD, CT) - On Tuesday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will talk to students at Kids' Speak, an event sponsored by the Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities, that brings together students from across the state to discuss topics related to civil and human rights, including diversity, anti-bullying efforts, and equal protection.
Later Tuesday morning, Governor Malloy will hold his monthly meeting with the commissioners of all state agencies, during which Dan DeSimone, the Director of the Governor's Washington, DC Office, will give a presentation on how the state can maximize its advocacy in Washington, DC, followed by a presentation by Commissioner Melody Currey, who will give an update on issues related to the Department of Motor Vehicles.
On Tuesday afternoon, Governor Malloy will visit a class of fifth and sixth grade students at Parkville Community School in Hartford with Department of Environmental Protection Commissioner Dan Esty for an Earth Day Teach-Out, where students will participate in various classroom activities raising awareness of environmental protection and sustainability.
Later Tuesday afternoon, Governor Malloy will participate in a news conference at Union Station in New Haven with officials from the Department of Public Safety, Department of Emergency Management and Homeland Security, and Department of Transportation to announce the new Mass Transit Security Unit.
