TUESDAY: GOVERNOR MALLOY SPEAKS AT STEMCONN; MEETS WITH STATE COMMISSIONERS; HOLDS NEWS CONFERENCE WITH ESPN; VISITS WBDC; HOLDS TOWN HALL IN STAMFORD
(HARTFORD, CT) - On Tuesday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will give the introductory remarks at StemCONN 2011 in Farmington. The event, hosted by Connecticut United for Research Excellence, brings the northeast U.S. stem cell research community to Connecticut for a full-day scientific symposium highlighting the most recent discoveries in stem cell research.
Later that morning, Governor Malloy will hold his monthly meeting with the commissioners of every state agency, during which Department of Public Health Commissioner Dr. Jewel Mullen and Office of State Ethics Executive Director Carol Carlson will each give presentations providing updates on issues related to their respective agencies. This is the third all-commissioners meeting the Governor has held since taking office in January.
On Tuesday afternoon, Governor Malloy will hold a news conference with ESPN Executive Vice President Ed Durso in Bristol to discuss the growth of the company in Connecticut. (Please note security clearance information below.)
Later in the afternoon, Governor Malloy will visit an open house of the Women's Business Development Council in Stamford.
On Tuesday evening, Governor Malloy will hold a town hall meeting in Stamford, the ninth stop in his statewide series of 17 town hall meetings to discuss the state's pressing economic and budgetary issues face-to-face with state residents.
