GOVERNOR MALLOY: INFLUENCE OF ELLA GRASSO ON CONNECTICUT CONTINUES 30 YEARS LATER
(HARTFORD, CT) - Governor Dannel P. Malloy released the following statement in remembrance of the 30th anniversary of the death of Connecticut Governor Ella T. Grasso, on February 5, 1981.
"Ella Grasso's impact on Connecticut is immeasurable. She will continue to be remembered for her love for the people of this state, her down-to-earth approach to governing and, of course, her handling of the 'Blizzard of '78.' She broke down barriers for women not only in our state, but across the country. I know that I am not alone when I say that Connecticut became an even stronger state because of the influence of Governor Ella Grasso."
