MONDAY: GOVERNOR MALLOY TO CELEBRATE MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY AT STATE CAPITOL CEREMONY
(Hartford, CT) - Governor Dannel P. Malloy will join the Connecticut Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Commission at a ceremony in the State Capitol on Monday honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
The tribute will feature the governor with several other dignitaries, elected officials, and community advocates who will speak about the spirit of Dr. King's life and reflect upon the need to continue preaching his timeless message. The celebration is open to the public and will include a variety of presentations and the ringing of the state's replica of the Liberty Bell.
January 17, 2011 marks the 25th anniversary of our nation's official recognition of the Martin Luther King Holiday.
