Transition Team 2010
Malloy to discuss best practices, get advice from Governors of both parties
November 19, 2010
(HARTFORD, CT) - Governor-Elect Dan Malloy will attend the National Governors Association's (NGA) Seminar for New Governors this weekend in Colorado. This biennial, bipartisan seminar features a series of workshops and business sessions in which a group of veteran governors advise governors-elect and their transition teams on a host of issues, including: managing the executive budget; shaping a vision for the administration; strategic scheduling and communications and emergency preparedness.
"I'm looking forward to hearing from Governors from both parties about their transitions into office and what to expect once I'm there," said Governor-Elect Malloy. "The last 11 days or so have been a whirlwind, and this is an excellent opportunity to talk with people who have gone through this process already. As I've said in the past, I plan to be a very active Governor, and meeting my counterparts from other states will allow me to build relationships that will help when we're talking about issues that go beyond state lines. My number one priority continues to be attracting new jobs, keeping the ones we have and getting our fiscal house in order, and I'm particularly looking forward to hearing from Governors Christie, Markell and Schweitzer in this regard."
Governor-Elect Malloy will return to the state on Monday.
