Thursday: Gov. Malloy Kicks Off 2014 School Year With First Stop to Expanded Pre-K Program, Speaks at House of Bread Anniversary Reception
On Thursday at noon, Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Dr. Myra Jones-Taylor, Commissioner of the state Office of Early Childhood, will visit Dr. Michael D. Fox School in Hartford for an opportunity to tour the school’s pre-kindergarten program and meet with its teachers and staff.

Gov. Malloy Signs Historic Agreement to Secure Long-Term Commitment from United Technologies Corp. to Connecticut
Sitting behind a desk used by Charles Lindbergh and joined by hundreds of employees from Pratt & Whitney, Governor Dannel P. Malloy today held a signing ceremony for Public Act 14-2, an agreement under which United Technologies Corp. (UTC) will invest up to $500 million to upgrade and expand its aerospace research, development and manufacturing facilities over the next five years. During the same time period, UTC expects to invest up to $4 billion in research and other capital expenditures in the state. The agreement is expected to have an impact on more than 75,000 jobs in Connecticut.

Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced the state Department of Labor’s Division of Wage and Workplace Standards recovered more than $6.5 million in unpaid wages for Connecticut workers during the fiscal year that ended June 30.

Governor Dannel P. Malloy today released an interim report from the Emergency Communications Taskforce, which reviewed how state government communicates with residents during storms or other emergencies, with special attention to those who are non-English speakers, have disabilities, or have certain functional needs.
