Connecticut Management Advisory Council Committees

 

CT MAC, like any organization, is dependent on your participation to keep it running smoothly and efficiently.  The progress CT MAC (in partnership with the Administration) has gained for executive branch Managers since 2019, is due to your managerial colleagues volunteering their expertise; putting in the extra hours needed toconduct research, collect and analyze data; and step outside of their comfort zones.  To keep this trend of advancement in compensation and non-compensatory benefits for executive branch managers progressing – your volunteerism is needed in the following areas:

1.  Parliamentarian: Regularly attends CT MAC Regular Monthly meetings to ensure meetings are conducted according to Roberts Rules.  Answer questions regarding proper procedures according to Roberts Rules during meetings. Researches trends and ethics regarding meetings of public organizations.

2. Bylaw Taskforce:  Reviews CT MAC bylaws. Drafts and proposes updates to the E-Council.  Drafts requests from E-Council for bylaw updates. Presents drafts, approved by the E-Council, to Credentials Committee to recommend for approval by managers. Researches trends and ethics regarding bylaws of meetings held by public organizations and brings them to the ER-Council’s attention.   Works closely with the E-Council.

3.  Statewide Managerial Employee Handbook:  Review current State Managerial Employee Handbook and update outdated information with current policies and procedures.  Research compensatory and non-compensatory benefits provided to public employees in other states and brings them to the CT MAC E-Council’s attention.  Works closely with the E-Council.

4. Enhancing Membership and Participation: Drafts and keeps updated CT MAC brochures and other informational materials. Coordinates with agency CT MAC Reps and Alts and HR Business Partners to welcome new managers, inform them of the importance of CT MAC, and the importance of their participation.  Seeks out and encourages managers to participate on CT MAC committees and taskforces.  Works closely with the CT MAC Webmaster to ensure CT MAC’s progress and resources for managers are up-to-date on the CT MAC website.

5. Credentials Committee:  Regularly attends CT MAC Regular Monthly meetings.  Track attendance of CT MAC Reps and Alts during CT MAC meetings and events.  Track participation of CT MAC Reps and Alts on committees and taskforces. Confirm quorums at CT MAC meetings.  Coordinates with HR Business Partners during CT MAC Reps and Alt agency elections.  Drafts and distributes election notices and letters. Creates and receives election ballots.  Count votes and announces election results.  Attends Rep and Alt meetings usually held immediately after the CT MAC Regular Monthly meetings.
