MAC Announces Donation of New and Gently Used Books to DCF
As has been the practice of the Management Advisory Council for the past three years, a sizeable donation of books was once again made to the Department of Children and Families. A total of 1,076 new and gently used books and other children’s items, such as videos and puzzles, were presented to Mr. Michael Williams, Director of the Hartford Area Office, and two of his staff at the monthly MAC meeting on October 20, 2010. This makes a total of over 3000 books that have been collected by MAC in the three years that this effort has been carried out.
This is a tremendous accomplishment which supports DCF’s literacy programs for children in their care. It is also a testament to the giving spirit of the State of Connecticut ’s many fine managerial employees. All who contributed to this effort are thanked for their generosity.

Officials from DCF receive books donated by MAC.
