MAC Announces Book and DVD Collection

The Management Advisory Council is continuing its tradition of collaboration with managerial colleagues for charitable giving.  MAC will once again be collecting new and gently used books for children of all ages.  These books will be donated to the Department of Children and Families for distribution to the children in their care.

Last year, 780 books were collected at Managers Day at the Aqua Turf Club.  We hope to surpass that number at this year’s Managers Day, also to be held at the Aqua Turf Club, on October 1, 2010.

MAC has also decided to add another great cause to its efforts this year by accepting new and gently used, traditional-format

(no Blu-Ray, please) DVDs that will be donated to the State Veterans’ Home in Rocky Hill.  This is yet another worthwhile cause that we can all be proud to be a part of.  MAC will also be donating an as-yet-to-be-determined number of DVD players to the Home for use by the Veterans.  It is the least we can do to show our appreciation for their service to our nation.

Managers are encouraged to establish collection points at their respective agencies, with permission from the proper authority, of course.

Presentations of the donated items will be made to the respective agency heads or their designees at one of the MAC meetings that follow Managers Day, depending upon their schedule and availability.
