Governor Lamont and Secretary Beckham Statements on November 2024 Consensus Revenue Forecast

11/12/2024

(HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Ned Lamont and Office of Policy and Management Secretary Jeffrey Beckham released the following statements in response to the November 2024 consensus revenue forecast, which was jointly issued today by the Office of Policy and Management and the Office of Fiscal Analysis:

Governor Lamont said, “This consensus revenue forecast shows the strong belief on the part of businesses and residents that Connecticut is headed in the right direction. The work to make our state a more affordable and equitable place to live and work continues, and as we approach the next legislative session that will be a key focus of our efforts. The decisions we make in Hartford have a direct impact at kitchen tables in every community in our state, and our budgets must reflect the needs and desires of our families to improve their lives and those of the generations that follow.”

Secretary Beckham said, “Our revenues remain strong in virtually every area, reflecting that Connecticut’s economy is growing, thanks to low levels of unemployment and businesses moving and expanding across our state. The challenge we face is sustaining this momentum with significant national and global uncertainty. Governor Lamont has made clear that he wants to help our families and businesses succeed, addressing the needs they have, while ensuring our state’s long-term financial health. As we develop the governor’s budget for fiscal years 2026 and 2027, we are listening carefully to the needs of our families and businesses to understand how we can best secure their futures.”
