(HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Ned Lamont is reminding Connecticut residents as the Independence Day holiday weekend approaches that they should always be aware of their surroundings and if they see something suspicious, say something to law enforcement authorities.
“We want everyone to have fun and enjoy the upcoming holiday weekend, but keeping the residents and visitors of our state safe is our number one priority,” Governor Lamont said. “The public is an important partner in our efforts to protect our homeland security. As always, we encourage everyone to be aware of their surroundings, recognize when something looks out of place, and notify law enforcement authorities immediately if you witness any suspicious activity.”
Connecticut’s Homeland Security Tip Line can be contacted via telephone at 1-866-HLS-TIPS (1-866-457-8477) and via email at ctic@ct.gov.
If immediate attention is necessary, people should call 9-1-1 and inform the operator about what they saw and what struck them as concerning.
